Evolution of video game graphics - From Donkey Kong, Mortal combat to Skyrim

All through the years, different variety of computer graphic techniques has been used to display video game content throughout the history of video games. The predominance of individual techniques has evolved over time, primarily due to hardware advances and restrictions such as the processing power of central or graphics processing units.

Last week, we made a comparative post on the population that still enjoys playing console modules compared to their PC gaming counterparts. We got a great feedback though.

I've been thinking about making some kind of topic (or chart or video) showing how video game graphics have evolved over the years, by showcasing the best-looking video game (or two) from each year.

Just like comparing Commander Keen Episode 4  failing to keep in mind that game came out in 1991, by that time the SNES, MD and TG-16 were out, and it really does not compete with those systems. But then I wasn't even comparing it to consoles, I was comparing it to the computers that came out at the time, in particular, the Atari ST and the Amiga, both of which had better visuals and sound over the PC with its EGA and PC speaker
So, just feel free to watch the video and highlight your possible favourite video game alongside their unique graphics we missed out in the comment section.
