It’s that time of the year once again when consumer tech companies and OEM's, in general, embark on yet another journey of exciting new technology products.

Just like we have different weather seasons, you might get a good title this the "Consumer Electronic Flagship season".

With Tim Cook and Apple working on quite exotic Mac Book year after year, no doubt major companies have had to hide under the cover or even get relegated to the background but not

Dell, who is getting out ahead of the big CES event with the announcement of its new commercial Latitude 7400 2-in-1 laptop.

And to buy some eyebrows, the heavy device has been said to feature a proximity sensor that’ll wake the computer up automatically when someone or say the user comes near it, speeding up the login process.

Business laptops are not usually known for their flashy and exciting features, but this one is definitely an exception to that rule!

Latitude 7400 2-in-1 Features And Specs

Without much doubt, the main exciting feature of the laptop is the proximity sensor, which Dell calls the “ExpressSign-In”.

Dell Latitude commercial use

Dell explained that the sensor will have to detect a nearby user; up to 5 feet away and wakes the computer which then uses Windows Hello IR to log them in by detecting their face once the laptop is opened.

The very flashy thing you would love to have on your PC!

Basically, a laptop wakes up when the screen is either opened for ones set on auto-hibernate or when the power button is pressed, depending on the power settings.

But with the Dell Latitude 7400 unique feature, the computer screen will already be awake, up and requesting for a task by the time you might have taken your seat, entirely shaving a few seconds off the login process.

Also with a new cooling system which Dell refers to as “intelligent thermal responsiveness”.

This means you get to experience differential temperature levels at different working conditions, either when using the laptop on your lap or on a desk.

Does it mean we don't need Laptop cooling pads anymore? Time shall tell!

Alongside running on an 8th generation Intel Core Whiskey Lake Procesor, the Latitude 7400 also comes with several enterprise features;

A Cat 16 Gigabit LTE, a fingerprint reader, and the FIPS 201 Smart Card Reader... and a 2-in-1 monitor too.

According to Dell, the 14-inch speculated 2-in-1 laptop is 25 per cent smaller than their previous model and weighs in at a SLIM 3 POUNDS making it unarguably "the smallest commercial 2-in-1 laptop on the market" right now.

When Is the Latitude 7400 out?

Dell Latitude ports

Dell reports that its new flagship laptop will debut for the public in March of 2019; not so long to go, with pricing starting at $1600 for the base model and go right to the top-of-the-line model.

With a solid battery life of up to 24 hours depending on usage conditions but no trackpad or mechanical keyboards, not sure if a 2-in-1 is for you? *Kidding Emoji*
Perfect present for CES 2019!
