Going by the recent standards already set by the major players in the global smartphone market, it would be best to say the TECNO CAmon15 design is nothing new in the smartphone world today. Just the major basics.

However, the CAmon15 Premier device spots a catchy and elegant design at the back with its unique camera placement, as well as a good feel in hands and ultimately not bulgy in the pockets.
When the pop-up camera on the CAmon15 is active, it just about forms this amazing lineup of camera setup like an extension with the quad camera at the back. AMAZING IF YOU ASK ME!
There is also a LED camera flash at the back together with a fingerprint sensor. Also worth noting that the sensor is better placed from not interrupting gaming session on the CAmon15 Premier compared to the base CAmon15.

Furthermore, moving on to the display, this device comes with a 6.6 inches IPS LCD display. This display also has a punch-hole camera cut for its front-facing camera on the CAmon15 and pop-up selfie on the CAmon15 Premier.

But then you are not saving battery life on this device because it is an LCD display and not AMOLED which should have made the CAmon15 a no-brainer!

The TECNO CAmon 15 comes in three color variants from which you can choose from. They include Shoal Gold, Fascinating Purple or Jade.

Camera & Battery

TECNO keeps on improving the camera system of the CAmon series which is not quite surprising considering the major updates they have continuously rolled with their self-acclaimed Mobile Photography enabled smartphone range.

Just as the company teased before the launch, the TECNO CAmon15 features a primary quad-camera system setup at the back and just a single camera for selfies with NO FLASH.

This quad-camera setup at the back consists of a 64MP primary camera, 5MP, 2MP, and another 2MP primary camera.

Also, there is the usual camera suspect features like taking photos in HDR and Panorama, as well as shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

For selfies, the TECNO CAmon15 offers you a single 32MP front-facing camera setup. There’s also an possible 115° wide-angle lens which TECNO mentioned during the launch.

For the Battery segment, there is a fully-loaded non-removable 4000mAh Li-Po battery which I must say is still the biggest yet on the CAmon series so far. We should be getting the battery test comparisons rolling with time.

Hardware & Storage

TECNO CAmon series have always been geared at making the most of mobile photography, so we don’t expect much of a gaming hardware update.
Under the beautiful design of the CAmon15 device, is an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 Processor which powers the CAmon 15. It also has a GPU which is a PowerVR GE8320 which provides cover though not for practically intense gaming.

In terms of storage, we are given only one variant. And it comes in a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. Meanwhile, handling the software activities on the Camon 15 is the new HiOS 6.0.1 interface on top of the Android 10 operating system.

TECNO yesterday revealed a major update for its CAmon15 series which it called TAIVOS. And folks have been asking questions what is it since not many of their smatphone launch event comes with a major software announcement. 

Now this is what the TAIVOS means for future TECNO devices starting from the CAmon15 series.

“TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution” as it stands is signal processing technology.

In other words, it’s a dedicated microprocessor that works together with AI algorithms to do one job: significantly enhance night-time photography, optimizing processes and renderings by making images clearer, enhancing night shots, and overall improvement through high-performance imaging algorithm capabilities.

A cutting-edge SONY chip, this is TECNO’s latest move to stand out from the already huge crowd in the Nigerian smartphone market while providing the best budget smartphones for it users.
