Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G flagship features and pricing

You might as well refer to this year’s (MWC2019) as “Market World Congress rather than Mobile World Congress due to brands eagerness about making non-ready 5G and foldable phones but Xiaomi might just be about breaking that trend with the launch of their own 5G handset dubbed the Xioami Mi Mix 3 5G.

While several OEM’s like Huawei have their Mate X folding phone, Samsung with their Galaxy S10 5G, etc. the Chinese handset manufacturer moved to launch its first 5G smartphone at MWC which is being touted as one of the world’s first commercially available 5G smartphones.

Notably, Xioami had launched the standard variant of the Mi Mix 3 back in October last year and have moved on to partner with several carriers including UK Three, Orange, Sunrise, Telefonica, Tim, and Vodafone to offer the handset.

The Xioami Mi Mix 3 5G phone will be equipped with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, their’s a powering Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC to keep things ticking along under the hood with Snapdragon X50 5G modem and Adreno 640 GPU. In addition, the phone also features a hybrid cooling system which helps to keep things ‘cool’ during extended and intense gaming sessions.

Elsewhere, there is room for Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box with fingerprint sensor the major highlight for security purposes.
In the camera department, you get a vertically aligned dual camera set up on the back which comprises of a pair of 12-megapixel sensors enabling 960fps video recording and supporting AI scene detection, AI studio lighting, AI real-time video beautify and more. 
**Better than a certain phone with 6 cameras yet deploys only one lens for videos?
For selfies, the smartphone giant has opted for a sliding selfie camera sliding mechanism with the phone packing a dual camera set up with a combination of primary 24MP sensor + a secondary 2MP sensor.
The memory details of the Mi Mix 3 5G are yet to be revealed. However, their’s news it packs a 3,800mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 4+ support ( something Xiaomi has rated as not yet ready of recent). 
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G phone will feature a dedicated Google Assistant button just as in the LG GThinQ. For connectivity purpose, the phone features 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
It is obvious that 5G is out to change our everyday life and the direction to which connectivity is heading to but, it remains to be seen if support-device are pubic-ready and when actually it’s importance will be called to place.

The new Xiaomi 5G phone has been priced at EUR 599 which roughly translates to N247,000 and is said will go on sale starting May 2019. There will be two colour options available for the interested buyers- Onyx Black and Sapphire Blue.

Con-Clusion

Xiaomi might just have done the clap back on fellow OEM’s with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G’s launch and with their other flagship coming through – the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro, the company might finally have convinced you to “NEVER SETTLE” on your present brand right now.

PS:  5G is still a dream in Nigeria due to the unavailability of 4G connectivity yet in several locations, though the present government will have to go a long way to have the country equipped with 5G connectivity infrastructure.
